Job summary

South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation is seeking a Coordinator, Event Services to provide hands-on support for garden events, programs, exhibits, rentals, and special projects. You will transport equipment, set up event spaces, and assist with fabrication and installations.

This role requires physical work most shifts, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability. You will collaborate with Garden departments, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe, timely, and guest-friendly event

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn power tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious with basic construction concepts.

Responsibilities

• Move, load, unload, and transport event materials.
• Set up and break down event spaces according to layouts.
• Support load-ins, rehearsals, and room flips.
• Assemble displays, decor, and temporary installations.
• Ensure spaces are guest-ready and safe.
• Coordinate with vendors and Garden staff.
• Maintain tools and equipment in organized storage.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
