The City of Wichita is seeking an Equipment Operator I for its Street Maintenance division. The role involves safe operation of trucks and powered equipment for maintenance and construction tasks, with some manual labor and seasonal snow/ice duties.

Responsibilities include material hauling, operating a jackhammer, and directing on-site laborers when needed. The position requires physical stamina and a focus on safety in outdoor environments across several locations.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience operating motor vehicles.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a valid CDL with tanker endorsement within 120 days.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsabilités

• Operate trucks and assist with loading/unloading materials.
• Perform minor servicing like refueling, lubrication, washing, or adjustments.
• Operate jackhammer, air compressor, and small tractor with attachments.
• Haul materials such as sand, stone, cement, pipes, and ground cover.
• Support snow and ice removal operations and assist other crews as needed.
