Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Recreation Attendant-Naturalist to assist with designing and teaching outdoor environmental education at the Piedmont Environmental Center. This role focuses on pre-college to college audiences and may extend to community education programs.

Experience delivering outdoor education and leading groups is valued. You must be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed to support public programs and special events.

Qualifications

• Assists in designing outdoor environmental education classes for students of various ages.
• Assists in teaching environmental education classes and programs outdoors in various conditions.
• Delivers environmental education programming independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Designs and delivers outdoor environmental education programs for youth.
• Maintains teaching exhibits and teaching materials; supports field trips and public events.
• Ensures programs meet OSHA and city safety standards; may lead groups independently.
