Job summary

YMCA of San Diego seeks an Outdoor Education Team Leader to oversee the development and delivery of the Outdoor Education program. You will supervise coordinators and instructors, ensure curriculum aligns with California standards, and serve as a liaison with senior management to uphold safe, inclusive, mission-driven experiences for ages 7-17.

This on-site role includes housing, meals, and a structured weekly schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years working with children in outdoor education or camp programs.
Minimum 1 year in a leadership role within an educational outdoor program.
Minimum 1 year of staff development and program management experience.

Responsibilities

Lead development and maintenance of Outdoor Education activities aligned with state standards.
Coordinate and train staff to ensure high-quality instruction and delivery.
Act as liaison between OE team and camp management; execute directives.
Provide supervision and mentorship to coordinators and instructors.
Lead staff meetings, team building, and professional development activities.
Oversee IT needs for OE staff and interface with camp administration.
Assist in managing program equipment and supplies.
Serve as Manager on Duty during designated nights for safety and operations.
Collaborate with other departments to address requests promptly.
