Job summary

Wampum Hardware Co. in Pennville, IN is seeking a Full Time Construction Laborer to assist drivers, load materials, and work on site in varied weather.

You will use shovels, hand tools, and power tools, and perform heavy lifting up to 60 lbs while following safety practices. Required are a high school diploma, ability to work outdoors, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, DOT physical, and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Have strong team-working skills and access to reliable transportation.
• Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor.
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background checks conducted by Wampum Hardware and the ATF.
• Ability to follow all of Wampum Hardware Co policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load a truck with product and assist the driver.
• Drive or ride to the job location, often construction-like terrain.
• On site, assist the Driver and Blaster with loading holes and other labor tasks.
• Use material handling equipment including shovels, hand tools, power tools; work around heavy construction equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment; report safety concerns to the Blaster in Charge or Site Manager.
• Report equipment or mechanical failures immediately to the Blaster in Charge.
• After the shot is fired, return to the main facility and assist the Driver or Blaster for next day’s operations.
