AgVantage FS in Thornton, IA, seeks a Retail Agronomy Internship to perform regular crop field inspections and assist with agronomy operations while building customer relations. The internship provides hands-on experience with IPM scouting, field equipment, and reporting.

You will pursue an Agriculture degree, maintain good academic standing, and engage in training. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather and occasional travel with the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic understanding of production agriculture.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with travel ability.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 51–70 pounds.
• Willingness to participate in required training and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections of customer crop fields to monitor health and conditions.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Drive company vehicle to field locations.
• Inspect fields using IPM techniques and GPS to identify threats.
• Document findings and prepare inspection reports for agronomy specialist and customers.
• Discuss results with agronomy specialist and customers to add value.
