Job summary

AgVantage FS in Maquoketa, IA seeks a Retail Agronomy Intern to gain hands-on field experience supporting crop health inspections, field scouting, and customer service.

You will assist with equipment maintenance, visit locations, and report findings to agronomy staff while learning IPM techniques and GPS tools.

This paid internship offers exposure to cooperative operations, training, and opportunities to build relationships with customers and branches across the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; agronomy knowledge a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions.
• Able to lift 51-70 pounds and walk crop fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular crop field inspections and monitor crop health and conditions.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Drive company vehicle to designated field locations.
• Document findings and prepare inspection reports for agronomy staff and customers.
• Discuss results with agronomy staff and customers to add value and answer questions.
• Attend scheduled training sessions and other duties as needed.
