Job summary

NC State University is seeking an Assistant Outdoor Trip Leader (Temporary) to support health and exercise studies trips. You will lead field trips, assist with route planning, and ensure safety for participants.

Responsibilities include helping with logistics, supervision, and teaching activities, with opportunities to work with experienced staff. Typical schedule involves overnight trips on Fridays–Sundays, one to three times per semester.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong public speaking and group leadership skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field trips as Instructor Leader with safety focus.
• Assist in route planning, logistics, and content delivery for trips.
• Support instructors in classroom and outdoor activities.
• Maintain safety and ensure participant welfare on outings.
