Job summary

Cincinnati Animal CARE is seeking an Outcomes Coordinator to support live outcomes for shelter animals. You will coordinate daily operations, track data, manage placements, and work with Medical, Behaviour, Foster, Community Support, and Animal Care teams to maximize outcomes and ensure compassionate, efficient service for adopters and the community.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years in animal welfare, strong communication, data literacy, and a commitment to humane, ethical practices.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in animal welfare or a related field; placements experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic animal behaviour and progressive shelter practices.
• Proven problem-solving skills with ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences within and outside the organisation.
• Ability to manage relationships with rescue partners, staff, volunteers and community members.

Responsibilities

• Guide Outcomes Specialists and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Educate the public and promote the organisation’s mission and adoption philosophies.
• Support training for new staff and volunteers; ensure protocol adherence.
• Report incidents or programme needs to the Outcomes Manager; perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role

We are looking for an Outcomes Coordinator to join our team and play an important role in supporting CAC’s mission.

In this position, you will:

• Coordinate daily operations, ensure efficient workflow and maintain high levels of customer service to maximize live outcomes for shelter animals. You will also assist in tracking and analysing data, managing placement logistics, and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Your day-to-day may include:

• Facilitate animal placements through Adoption, Rescue, Return to Owner, or Transfer to Rescue, ensuring live outcomes with minimal shelter time.
• Oversee the accurate completion of all adoption and outcome processes, including verifying medical records, microchips, and licences.
• Manage and maintain relationships with rescue partners, serving as the primary point of contact for the organisation.
• Monitor the programme's success, using data to identify areas for improvement and suggest data-driven initiatives to enhance or expand the programme.
• Provide high-level customer service to visitors, adopters, and community members, handling inquiries and ensuring a positive experience.
• Coordinate the scheduling of animal showings and releases, advocating for both the customer and the animal’s well-being.
• Work with other departments - Medical, Behaviour, Foster, Community Support, and Animal Care - to facilitate animal placements.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining programme inventory, ensuring essential supplies are stocked and managed effectively.
• Provide guidance to Outcomes Specialists, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Educate the public and promote the organisation’s mission, ensuring alignment with best practices and adoption philosophies.
• Support new staff and volunteers in training, ensuring adherence to department protocols and standards.
• Report any incidents or programme needs promptly to the Outcomes Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Outcomes Manager or other management staff.
• Supporting additional organisational needs as they arise

Qualifications

Preferred/Required:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in animal welfare or a related field; experience in placements is preferred.

• Adaptable and resilient, capable of handling various environmental conditions within a shelter setting.
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay:Minimum pay of $20.19 after successful 90 day training period. $18.90 during training period.
