Job summary

FHI 360 is seeking a Laboratory and Diagnostics Advisor to provide technical guidance and support for the STRIDES outbreak response and preparedness portfolio. The role focuses on expanding, validating, and strengthening diagnostic capacity while reinforcing national laboratory systems for long-term readiness.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of infectious disease diagnostics and field implementation.
• Experience leading laboratory strengthening during outbreaks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience working with USG-funded contracts desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for STRIDES’ outbreak laboratory and diagnostic systems portfolio.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory and diagnostic activities in outbreak response countries, including readiness assessments and deployment of diagnostic platforms.
• Develop tools, guidance, and job aids to support diagnostic activities and quality systems strengthening.
• Coordinate with ministries of health, reference laboratories, implementing partners, and STRIDES technical teams to ensure coordinated efforts.
