Job summary

Sysco is hiring a Warehouse Associate in Orlando, FL. This role builds pallets and loads trailers using a pallet jack, following safety and quality standards.

You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, inspect products for damage, and maintain a clean, organized workplace. A high school diploma and forklift/pallet jack certification are required; 6 months warehouse experience preferred; solid English communication and math skills needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months warehouse experience preferred or equivalent.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification required.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Reads pick sheets and travels to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
• Picks proper product type and quantity, labels products and places on a pallet and loads the pallet on trucks according to proper zone, location, and established standards.
• Handles products and builds pallets according to food safety procedures (e.g. visual inspection for damages, proper pallet placement to minimize cross-contamination).
• Maintains warehouse cleanliness and safety per company standards; takes corrective actions for spills or damaged cases; disposes of trash/recycling properly.
• Communicates with management regarding issues (products, out-of-stocks, safety concerns).
• Operates all warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) safely.
• Reports equipment issues to management.
• Completes paperwork and uses a wearable computer to track time on assignments for productivity reporting.
• Adheres to assigned schedule and overtime as needed.
