Job summary

Clark Associates is seeking an Outbound Manager to oversee outbound operations, including order picking, consolidation, packing, and loading for ground shipping and common carrier shipments. The main objective is on-time, accurate fulfillment while upholding safety, quality, and service standards.

You will lead a team, monitor metrics, and collaborate with leadership to optimize staffing, workflows, and continuous improvement across the distribution center.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day outbound operations including order picking, consolidation, packing, loading, and coordination of shipments.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve goals and maintain performance.
• Monitor metrics daily, weekly, monthly and address operational issues as needed.
• Provide clear communication to all teams on policies and performance expectations.
• Lead weekly and monthly meetings to review metrics and initiatives.
• Analyze opportunities for improvement including productivity, costs, order accuracy, and load efficiency.
• Ensure timely completion of performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Engage with employees to promote a safe, compliant work environment.
• Complete all administrative duties related to employee management.
• Collaborate with leadership to meet distribution center needs and foster teamwork.
• Partner with Team Leads to create development plans for employees.
• Demonstrate integrity and model company values.
• Serve as a leader for the entire distribution center and hold peers accountable.
• Work hours: 4th Shift: Friday - Monday 7:00am to 5:30pm

Job Summary

The Outbound Manager oversees the facility’s outbound operations, including order picking, consolidation, packing, and loading for both ground shipping and common carrier shipments. The main objective of the Outbound leadership team is to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time while maintaining high safety, quality, and service standards. The Outbound Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, optimize processes, and ensure effective staffing and workflow coordination. This role collaborates closely with other department leaders and shift management to maintain compliance with all protocols and SOPs, resolve operational challenges, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.

Responsibilities

Operational

• Oversee the day-to-day operations within the outbound department, including order picking, consolidation, packing, loading, and coordination of ground shipping and common carrier shipments.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational goals and maintain high performance standards.
• Work closely with the leadership team to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for outbound operations and identify and resolve operational issues as needed.
• Provide clear, consistent communication to all teams on company policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
• Lead and participate in weekly and monthly meetings to review metrics, discuss areas of improvement, address employee relations issues, and share updates on initiatives and projects.
• Analyze opportunities for improvement, including productivity growth, cost reduction, order accuracy, load efficiency, and overall process effectiveness.

People

• Ensure the timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide frequent, constructive feedback to support continued growth and engagement.
• Engage regularly with employees to promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment.
• Promptly complete all administrative duties related to employee management to the expected standard.

Leadership

• Collaborate with the facility’s leadership team to meet the needs of the distribution center and foster a strong team mentality.
• Partner with Team Leads and Assistant Managers to create development plans for employees, maintaining engagement and building a strong leadership pipeline.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty, modeling the company’s core values for all employees.
• Serve as a leader not only for the outbound department but for the entire distribution center, holding peers, managers, and employees accountable to expectations.

Work Hours

4th Shift: Friday - Monday 7:00am to 5:30pm
