Job description

Job Title: Consumer Loan Officer

Work from Home! This outbound phone sales position involves providing information on credit union products and services to members, adhering to all credit union policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include collating and analyzing financial information to support loan decision-making, evaluating and recommending loan approvals, denials, counteroffers, modifications, and debt restructuring based on individual circumstances, processing necessary forms and documentation, and promoting credit union products and services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Make outbound calls to members to solicit loan applications.
  2. Interview applicants and assist them in completing loan applications over the phone or electronically.
  3. Analyze and evaluate supporting information and documentation for loan applications.
  4. Assess borrower character, collateral, capacity to repay, and creditworthiness.
  5. Calculate debt-to-income ratios, collateral needs, and payment plans.
  6. Communicate with members, applicants, and creditors to clarify application details.
  7. Provide tailored information on loan products to meet members' needs.
  8. Recommend loan structures, terms, and amounts; manage the loan closing process.
  9. Advise members on asset purchases, credit management, budgeting, and financial planning.
  10. Notify applicants of loan decisions and commitments.
  11. Review regulations related to installment loan security agreements.

  • One or more years of sales experience preferred.
