Description

Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Work From Home Opportunity

Position Summary

Provide information on credit union portfolio mortgage products and services to members according to all credit union policies and procedures, and Federal and State rules and regulations. Collate and analyze individual financial information in support of loan decisioning process. Evaluate and recommend loan approvals, denials, and counteroffers based upon individual circumstances and data. Process required forms and related documentation for mortgage loan products. Promote credit union products and services. Partner to approve or deny loan applications based on analysis and company mortgage policies. Work with mortgage support staff to ensure timely responses to member inquiries and uphold a standard of service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Interview mortgage loan applicants and assist members in completing loan applications over the phone and electronically.
  2. Collect, analyze, and evaluate information and documentation supporting loan applications.
  3. Assess borrower character, collateral, capacity to repay, and credit position based on individual circumstances.
  4. Calculate debt-to-income ratios, collateral needs, and payment plans.
  5. Communicate with members, applicants, and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  6. Visit community and business contacts to promote and sell MCU’s services and develop lending business.
  7. Provide information on mortgage loan products that meet the member’s needs.
  8. Recommend loan structures, pricing, terms, and amounts for individual borrowers.
  9. Decide on loan approvals, denials, counteroffers, and deviations from typical loan structures.
  10. Prepare and review loan documentation for underwriting and processing; manage the loan closing process.
  11. Advise members on asset purchase, credit management, budgeting, debt restructuring, and financial planning issues.
  12. Notify applicants of loan decisions and commitments.
  13. Review regulations applicable to installment loan security agreements.
  14. Assist members with loan payment arrangements.
  15. Solicit loan applications and network to promote mortgage business growth.
  16. Collaborate with other staff to develop additional lending and deposit opportunities.
  17. Work with other departments to ensure proper procedures and record retention.
Additional Duties
  • Promote other Marine Enterprise products and services.
  • Provide exceptional member service.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Build relationships to meet goals.
  • Assist members through the loan process and educate about loan issues.
  • Ensure loan documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage risk through diligent information gathering.
  • Provide timely feedback regarding loan status.
  • Perform prospecting and delinquency calls.
  • Have transportation available for out-of-office appointments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of mortgage application and consumer credit processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and make recommendations.
  • Skilled in building rapport and explaining product features.
  • Business development skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and loan software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and credibility.
  • Previous consumer lending experience preferred.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience in data gathering, financial analysis, and product recommendations.
  • Business development and networking experience a plus.
  • Experience in mortgage, banking, or sales preferred.
  • Experience in community/industry networking and customer service.
  • Track record of achieving business goals.

This position may involve frequent driving; a driving record review is required.
