Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a seasonal cashier to process guest transactions accurately, greet customers, and provide friendly service at Schweitzer Lodge. You will handle cash, credit, and digital payments using Shift4Dine, issue receipts, and assist with order taking, ensuring a smooth guest experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean cashier area, bussing tables, restrooms, and supporting the team in problem-solving and proactive service.

Qualifications

• Cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to handle payments and issue receipts accurately.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift and lift up to 25–100 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system to handle cash, credit, and digital payments.
• Greet customers and answer questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies at the cashier station and surrounding areas.
• Assist with bussing tables, clearing trash, and cleaning restrooms as needed.
• Provide friendly, proactive service to guests and work with team to resolve issues.

Handle payments, issue receipts, and may assist with order taking, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for guests. The cashier is often the first and last contact the guest has with our lodge.Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system (we currently use Shift4Dine) to handle cash, credit, and digital payments accurately.Greet customers, answer questions.Keep the cashier station and surrounding areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and inventory.Maintain cleanliness of the Outback by bussing tables, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms.Maintain a positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward guests and coworkers. Work as part of the team by assisting, communicating, and proactivity troubleshooting problems.Secondary Responsibilities:Shovel snowOther duties as assignedSpecific Job Skills:License/Certifications - Idaho Food Safety Certification and Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Certificate (training provided).Technical - Computer skillsPhysical Capabilities - Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally and up to 100lbs with assistance.Additional - Exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.Education/Related Experience:Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication, basic mathMinimum time in related position -previous cashier experience preferred
