Job summary

Talen Energy in Berwick, PA seeks an experienced outage scheduler to develop and maintain detailed, logic-tied, resource-loaded schedules for outage and online work activities at a nuclear facility.

You will coordinate with planners, engineers, maintenance, operations, and suppliers, update schedules during outages, and ensure alignment with Technical Specifications, ALARA, and station priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in outage planning/scheduling or related roles in a nuclear or regulated heavy industry.
• Working knowledge of nuclear plant operations and outage execution.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 for logic-tied schedules and reporting.
• Familiarity with station procedures, shutdown risk, and ALARA considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed, logic-tied, resource-loaded outage and online schedules.
• Integrate surveillance, preventive, corrective, elective, and modification-related work into schedules.
• Build and maintain schedule logic, milestones, constraints, and sequencing in Primavera P6 or other approved tools.
• Coordinate with planners, engineers, maintenance, operations, and vendors to ensure schedule accuracy.
• Review work orders, durations, manpower estimates, prerequisites, and assumptions for credibility.
• Validate and maintain resource loading and manpower curves for schedules.
• Identify conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks; propose solutions.
• Track schedule restraints and impacts from materials, engineering, procedures, and field conditions.
• Support development of outage restraint lists, readiness trackers, and governance tools.
• Update schedules during outages to reflect progress and changes in scope.
• Support daily and shift-turnover by documenting changes and communicating impacts.
• Perform schedule analyses for path management, recovery planning, and contingency development.
• Participate in reviews and lessons-learned to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform additional duties including Emergency Response Organization tasks as qualified.
