Insight Global is seeking an experienced scheduler to support one of our large energy clients. This individual will provide outage scheduling support across multiple power generation facilities throughout the west region of NC. The Scheduler will partner closely with outage teams, engineering groups, vendors, OEMs, and plant leadership to develop and maintain integrated schedules that support outage planning and execution.
*This is a long-term opportunity with annual extension reviews and strong potential for continued extensions based on performance.
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated outage and engineering schedules using Primavera P6.
- Build schedules from scratch and maintain schedule logic including predecessors, successors, dependencies, and sequencing activities.
- Integrate vendor, contractor, OEM, and internal schedules into a single executable outage schedule.
- Identify critical path activities, schedule constraints, logic gaps, and execution risks.
- Track schedule progress and communicate impacts, delays, and recovery options to project stakeholders.
- Lead schedule review meetings and collaborate with outage teams to gather updates and maintain schedule accuracy.
- Perform schedule optimization reviews and support outage readiness planning.
- Support multiple generation facilities throughout the West Zone as outage schedules dictate.
- Work closely with lead schedulers, project teams, maintenance groups, and plant leadership throughout outage planning and execution.
MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years of project scheduling, outage scheduling, or project controls experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Experience building and maintaining complex schedules from the ground up.
- Experience managing and integrating multiple project, contractor, or vendor schedules.
- Background in power generation, utilities, heavy industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical, refinery, or similar project-driven environments.
PLUSSES:
- Experience supporting power generation facilities.
- Experience with coal-fired and/or combined cycle generation plants.
- Utility industry experience.
- Experience supporting planned outages, turnarounds, shutdowns, or maintenance activities.
- Experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical, refinery, or similar project-driven environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
- Hybrid work environment with both onsite and remote flexibility.
- Travel requirements will vary based on outage schedules and project needs.
- Mileage reimbursement is available when traveling to non-home-base facilities.
- Per diem is available for qualifying overnight travel under Duke Energy policy.
- Typical schedule is 40-50 hours per week, with additional hours required during major outage events.
