Job summary

Black Hills Trucking LLC seeks an over-the-road truck driver based in Spring, TX. This full-time role involves operating company equipment, delivering freight on schedule, and maintaining compliant logs and safety procedures.

You will travel to drill sites and other locations as required, adhering to DOT standards while handling oversize loads and coordinating with dispatch for efficient service.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with endorsements.
• At least two years of OTR experience required.
• Must meet DOT medical requirements and have a safe MVR.
• Must be willing to be on the road for extended periods.
• Ability to manage oversize/overweight loads.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck to various locations and drill sites as needed.
• Follow DOT and company safety standards and maintain logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Coordinate with dispatch on load status and issues.
• Deliver freight on schedule and secure cargo.

What You’ll Do:

• Drives truck or equipment to outlying locations; travels and works for extended periods as necessary for drill site requirements, customer work orders, and miscellaneous company assignments.
• Adhere to all DOT and company safety and compliance standards.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate logs (electronic or paper) of driving hours and activities.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding load status, delays, or issues.
• Deliver freight on schedule and handle paperwork at pickup/drop-off.
• Secure cargo properly and ensure load integrity.
• May be required to periodically work out of location other than base terminal for special assignments.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

• Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with all endorsements.
• A minimum of two (2) years OTR experience.
• Ability to meet physical requirements established by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and an attitude conducive to safety.
• Willingness to be on the road for extended periods.
• Manage oversize and overweight loads.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities

• Ability to be trained in and proficiently use business-specific applications, including but not limited to ELD, Dispatch apps, electronic DVIR, app-based safety training.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• English language fluency, verbal and written.
• Acceptable results of DOT physical.
• Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
