Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking an OTR Driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer between production and distribution facilities across its service area. You will drive an 80,000-pound tractor, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and position trailers for loading and unloading.

The role requires a CDL Class A, two years of tractor-trailer experience, and the ability to pass a PBV driving skills test. You must pass a DOT physical and may work shifts longer than eight hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• CDL Class A license required or ability to obtain one.
• 2 years of tractor-trailer experience.
• Experience positioning trailers at docks for loading/unloading.
• Able to pass PBV driving skills test.
• Shift may exceed 8 hours.
• Must pass DOT physical per FMCSA guidelines.
• Must obtain CDL permit and license within specified timelines if not currently held.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is a leading private bottler and distributor of Pepsi beverages across North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware.

Role Overview

To safely and efficiently drive a tractor‑trail between production and distribution facilities.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Operate an 80,000‑pound tractor and semi‑trailer carrying product to predetermined destinations.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure the vehicle operates safely.
• Position trailers at docks for loading and unloading product.
• Maintain a driver’s log book daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• DOT CDL Class A license required or ability to obtain one.
• Two years of tractor‑trailer experience.
• Experience positioning trailers at docks for loading and unloading.
• Able to pass a PBV driving skills test.
• Ability to work a shift exceeding 8 hours.
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical under guidelines in the Federal Motor Carriers Handbook.
• Must pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment and obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and license within 45 business days if not currently held.
• Average oral and written communication skills.
