Job summary

Estes Express Lines, a leading LTL freight carrier, seeks Line Haul Extraboard Drivers to move freight between Estes Service Centers. This role emphasizes in-cab ergonomics and technology that support driver comfort and compliance with ELD requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• 21 years of age and valid Class A CDL.
• FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse registration.
• HazMat/Tanker/Doubles endorsements may be required.
• Able to meet FMCSA medical and road test requirements.
• Reside within 75 miles of domiciled Service Center.
• Able to drive tractor-trailer and operate in varied terrains and conditions.
• Compliance with safety rules, FMCSA regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment safely to perform required functions.
• Drive tractor/trailer for freight transport in accordance with laws and FMCSA rules.
• Adhere to FMCSA requirements for CDL holders and safety regulations.
• Maintain required records in compliance with regulations.
• Safely transport hazardous materials where applicable and ensure cargo security.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle condition.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to Fleet Services or supervision.
• Verify unit numbers against paperwork and report discrepancies.
• Possibly use in-cab technology (ELD) and work varied schedules as needed.
• Provide professional service to customers and the public; maintain regular attendance.
