Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a CDL-class driver to safely operate tractor-trailers delivering to local stores in Dayville, CT. You will load/unload, maintain logs, and communicate with dispatch to keep shelves stocked with Lay's, Doritos, and Cheetos products.

Requires 21+ years old, a valid Class A CDL, 100,000 accident-free miles, and the ability to work holidays and weekends. Training is provided and benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Hold a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Have at least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles.
• Willing to work holidays and weekends.
• Able to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to sit for up to five hours daily.
• Able to drive a tractor trailer up to 11 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products per FMCSA regulations.
• Load and unload trailers using manual or palletized methods.
• Deliver to large grocery stores, D.Frito-Lay facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers.
• Obtain signatures, pick up returns, complete logs and paperwork.
• Use an electronic logging device and perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night.

Minimum Qualifications

• 21 years or older
• Possess a valid Class “A” commercial driver’s license
• Have at least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles or more than 2,500 accident-free hours
• Willing to work holidays and weekends
• Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to five hours daily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor trailer for extended periods of time, up to 11 hours per day, with or without a reasonable accommodation

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Load and unload trailers, which may include manual loading, palletized loading/unloading, use of a two-wheeler, and lifting product overhead
• Transport chips, dips, and more to large grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers
• Obtain signatures of receipt, pick up returns, complete logs and paperwork related to deliveries, and review invoices and/or manifests
• Use an electronic logging device, such as a tablet or onboard computer, and complete pre- and post-trip truck inspections
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night
