Job summary

PepsiCo in Charlotte, NC seeks a Class A CDL driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer and deliver Lay's, Doritos and Cheetos to local stores while keeping shelves stocked.

You will load and unload, complete logs and invoices, perform pre- and post-trip inspections with an electronic device, and communicate with customers and dispatch; weekends and holidays required.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older
• Possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license
• Have at least 100,000 verifiable accident-free miles or more than 2,500 accident-free hours
• Willing to work holidays and weekends
• Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to five hours daily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work up to 14 hours a day and drive a tractor trailer for extended periods of time, up to 11 hours per day

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from destinations per regulations
• Load and unload trailers including manual loading and palletized loading/unloading
• Transport chips, dips, and more to large grocery stores and facilities
• Obtain signatures of receipt, pick up returns, complete logs and paperwork
• Use an electronic logging device and complete pre- and post-trip truck inspections
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night

• Schedule: Sun-Sat, 70 hour clock(70/8 cycle) There is a mixture of daily home runs and layovers., 70 hour clock - 70 hour clock

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a tractor/trailer and transport products to and from specified destinations in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Load and unload trailers, which may include manual loading, palletized loading/unloading, use of a two-wheeler, and lifting product overhead
• Transport chips, dips, and more to large grocery stores, Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities, rural storage units, and other traffic centers
• Obtain signatures of receipt, pick up returns, complete logs and paperwork related to deliveries, and review invoices and/or manifests
• Use an electronic logging device, such as a tablet or onboard computer, and complete pre- and post-trip truck inspections
• Communicate with customers, sales drivers, and dispatch throughout the day or night
