Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President to lead the OTC Derivatives Settlements team in Jersey City, focusing on settlement lifecycle, risk mitigation, and process improvements. Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services with OTC derivatives operations or related middle office
• Deep understanding of OTC derivatives lifecycle events and settlement mechanics
• Proficiency with trade processing platforms and market infrastructures (DTCC, MarkitWire, TriOptima)
• Strong knowledge of payment systems (SWIFT, CLS)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven ability to resolve complex operational problems
• Strong analytical, risk-awareness, and communication skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

Responsibilities

• Lead daily settlement processing for OTC derivatives including Fixed Income and Equity derivatives
• Ensure timely accurate cash flows and lifecycle settlements events
• Monitor and resolve settlement breaks, fails, and discrepancies with counterparties
• Uphold risk and control framework per internal policies and external regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank)
• Drive root-cause analysis and remediation for exceptions
• Manage daily cash and position reconciliations
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation (STP)
• Support strategic initiatives like new product onboarding and regulatory changes
• Collaborate with Technology and Change Management to drive settlements innovation
• Build relationships with Front/Middle Office, Risk, and external counterparties
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff
• Support scalable OTC derivative processing and AI-driven exception handling
