Job summary

GM-developed vehicles require a software quality assurance engineer to ensure end-to-end OTA downloads and updates across GM vehicles. You will verify features on sub-system benches, author automation scripts, and manage test environments for both manual and automated runs.

Responsibilities include triaging nonconformities with data logs, documenting anomalies, and coordinating with design, systems, suppliers, and back-office teams to support timely, high-quality software launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software quality experience.
• Experience with CAN and Ethernet automotive serial data protocols.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and switch tasks as timing/resources dictate.
• Software QA, triage, and log analysis.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate test vehicles.
• Experience with end-to-end testing of OTA reflash features (preferred).
• Experience with CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure end-to-end OTA software delivery and updates across GM-developed vehicles.
• Utilize sub-system test bench environments to verify features through major milestones.
• Develop and execute test plans and procedures on sub-system benches.
• Author automation test scripts.
• Build, maintain, and manage test environments for manual and automated test runs.
• Triage system-level nonconformities by acquiring and analyzing data logs.
• Document anomalies using company-standard issue tracking tools.
• Follow issue resolution from origination through verification, closure, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with design, systems, suppliers, and back-office teams.
• Support on-time and quality software launches.
