Job summary

General Motors is seeking an OTA Quality Engineer to ensure robust Over the Air updates across VIP and SDV platforms. The role requires hybrid work with reporting to Milford, MI or Warren, MI three days a week, and close collaboration with OTA VSE, ECU teams, and quality orgs.

You will own OTA programming from development through launch, perform real-time triage, and drive issues to resolution using logs, CGM data, and verification plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software development, validation, quality, integration, triage, or software program management.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across embedded systems or vehicle architectures, with knowledge of CAN/UDS/DoIP.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating across teams with strong project management and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to summarize complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Own OTA programming from early development through launch and align OTA performance expectations.
• Manage technical resolution and troubleshooting of OTA issues across fleets, development vehicles, and plants.
• Collaborate with ECU DREs, software integration, OTA Deployment Operations, and OTA teams to ensure requirements and test plans cover OTA updates.
• Support data acquisition, log analysis, and use of OTA testing tools.
