Job summary

Hudbay is seeking an OT Systems Technician to maintain critical connectivity across pit operations and remote field locations. You will support the industrial network, ensure autonomous machinery stays connected, and uphold safety standards in a dynamic mining environment.

The role requires 0–2 years in field networking or electronics, with knowledge of RF, IP networks, and fleet management systems. Strong problem solving and travel to sites in AZ will be expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years in field technical role, field networking, telecommunications, or electronics installation.
• Experience with safety procedures and Permit to Work systems.

Responsibilities

• Wireless Infrastructure: Deploy and maintain Mesh, Private LTE/5G, and Wi‑Fi networks for 100% coverage.
• Radio Communications: Program, calibrate, install and repair DMR, repeaters, and handheld units.
• IT related items: Assist in printers troubleshooting and workstation support.
• Fleet Integration: Install and troubleshoot GNSS antennas, rugged routers, and data loggers on heavy equipment.
• Mobile Asset Management: Manage positioning, deployment, and power systems of mobile trailers/skids.
• Industrial Networking: Terminate coax, Ethernet cables and install networking components.
• Emergency Systems: Maintain pit-wide emergency siren systems and lightning detection hardware.
