Job summary

Perdue Farms Inc. is seeking an Operational Technology Systems Engineer in Salisbury, Maryland, to design, support, and optimize plant floor infrastructure including networks, servers, virtualization, SCADA/HMI, and historian platforms to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations.

The role partners with plant leadership, engineering, IT, and cybersecurity teams to implement technology solutions and support continuous improvement while maintaining stability of critical manufacturing systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or IT.
• 4+ years in OT systems, industrial IT, or controls-adjacent roles.
• Experience with Windows Server, virtualization, and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and industrial protocols.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated with project management ability.

Responsibilities

• Support OT servers, VMs, and applications.
• Maintain SCADA, HMI, historian, and MES infrastructure.
• Assist with upgrades, patching, backups, recovery testing.
• Support switches, firewalls, and VLANs.
• Troubleshoot plant floor connectivity and device comms.
• Implement OT security best practices and network segmentation.
• Assist capital projects and site expansions.
• Collaborate with Controls, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations.
• Coordinate with Operations, Environmental, IT to align OT with production goals.
• Manage OT vendors/integrators during projects.
• Follow OT cybersecurity policies and audits.
• Maintain asset inventories and system docs.
• Support audits and vulnerability remediation.
