Job summary

Inherent Technologies, Inc. is seeking an OT Security Analyst to supervise the SOC on assigned shifts and lead investigations of incidents affecting OT assets.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely containment and reporting, and mentor Tier 1–2 analysts in OT security concepts and incident handling. The role emphasizes evaluating SIEM/SOAR effectiveness, developing OT-focused detection rules, and staying current with NERC-CIP, NIST CSF, and the Purdue Model standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required; Master's preferred.
• 5–7 years of cybersecurity/SOC experience is expected; OT/ICS exposure is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and industrial networks is desired.
• Experience with OT protocols (e.g., DNP3, Modbus, IEC 104, OPC UA) and threat modeling is beneficial.
• Advanced OT security certifications (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SOC operations during assigned shifts, ensuring workflow, escalation procedures, SLAs, and clear analyst communication.
• Lead investigations and response to complex security incidents impacting OT systems, coordinating with Networking, Architecture, CIP Compliance teams.
• Analyze security alerts/logs in IAS/SCADA environments to identify IOCs.
• Decide on incident severity, containment, and escalation for Tier 1 & 2 analysts.
• Evaluate security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, IIDS/IPS) and optimize detection rules to reduce false positives.
• Develop and test detection rules, correlations, and use cases tailored to OT environments.
• Search for IOCs and misconfigurations using threat intel and TTPs relevant to IAS/SCADA.
• Create and refine incident response playbooks, SOPs, and runbooks.
