Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess clients and design therapeutic treatments at our expanded Outpatient Rehabilitation location. Responsibilities include evaluating cognitive, physical and psychosocial needs, developing therapy goals, and coordinating with care teams.

The role involves documenting plans, providing education to patients and families, and maintaining compliance with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification required or preferred for certain Sanford Health facilities; valid driver’s license may be required where applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments.
• Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for clients/patients/residents with functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
• Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities and develop therapy goals; document and modify plans as needed.
• Provide education to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Follow clinical guidelines and collaborate with providers, case managers, families, and third-party payers.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students in care activities.
• Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health environments as needed.
