Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Customer Cybersecurity Engineer to secure control systems for North American utilities and industrial customers. The role is hybrid in Raleigh/Cary, NC, focusing on DCS, SCADA, HMI, and OT security.

You will collaborate with customers, internal cybersecurity experts, and global teams to design, verify, and continuously improve cybersecurity controls while staying current with IEC 62443 and NERC CIP requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, OT, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in network infrastructure, OT systems, or virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/cloud).
• Experience with VLANs, VPNs, redundancy, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA, and NACs.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, OT cybersecurity practices, IEC 62443, NERC CIP.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools: Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS/IPS, SIEM.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+ are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer cybersecurity and network requirements and translate into secure control system solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity controls in control system environments.
• Collaborate with customers and teams to align technical solutions with compliance objectives.
• Perform cybersecurity verification and validation in test environments and at customer sites.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system integration activities.
• Monitor regulatory requirements across the U.S. and Canada.
• Develop technical documentation and support QA activities.
• Evaluate and strengthen security of DCS, SCADA, HMI, and OT networks.
