Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Customer Cybersecurity Engineer in the Raleigh area to secure advanced control, SCADA, and HMI environments for North American customers.

You will translate requirements into practical cybersecurity controls and work with engineering teams to ensure ongoing resilience and compliance. The role demands collaboration with customers and global colleagues, familiarity with OT cybersecurity practices and industry standards, and hands-on verification across FAT/SAT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, OT, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Three or more years of experience with network infrastructure, OT systems, or virtualization environments such as VMware/Hyper-V.
• Experience with network technologies including VLANs, VPNs, redundancy protocols, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA, and network access controls.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems and OT cybersecurity practices; familiarity with IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
• Industrial cybersecurity tooling familiarity (Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS/IPS, SIEM) and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer cybersecurity and network requirements and translate them into secure control system solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity controls within control system environments.
• Collaborate with customers, project teams, and cybersecurity experts to align technical solutions and compliance objectives.
• Perform cybersecurity verification and validation activities in test environments and at customer sites.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system integration activities.
• Monitor cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements across the U.S. and Canada.
• Develop technical documentation and support QA activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate and strengthen security of DCS, SCADA, HMI, and OT networks.
