Job summary

Silver Lake Hospital in Newark, NJ seeks a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to support long-term acute care patients in improving daily living activities under supervision. The OTA administers treatment plans, contributes to program development and quality improvement, and provides direct patient care to adults and seniors.

Candidates must have an ACOTE-accredited associate degree, NJ OTA license, and BLS certification; 1–3 years hospital OTA experience and ventilator/trachea experience

Qualifications

Associate's degree from an ACOTE accredited program.
Current NJ state OTA license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
1-3 years of hospital OTA experience preferred.
Experience with tracheas and ventilators is preferred.

Responsibilities

Administers treatment plans under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
Contributes to program development, quality improvement, and departmental policy/procedure development.
