Job summary

Navajo Preparatory School seeks an Out-of-School Time (OST) Specialist to support students after school with enrichment, leadership development, and culturally grounded learning. The role emphasizes safe, inclusive environments and real-world skill building, drawing on Diné values and the IB Learner Profile.

The OST Specialist designs engaging activities, partners with staff and communities, and may require evenings and occasional weekends. Prior experience in youth programs strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1–2 years of experience in education, youth programs, recreation, or related field.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate OST programming aligned with Diné language and culture, social-emotional wellness, and college/career readiness.
• Foster student voice, leadership development, and cultural connection through structured activities.
• Supervise and ensure safety during on-campus and off-campus activities and events.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and utilize EZReports or similar tools for reporting.
• Collaborate with school staff and community partners to plan field trips, Culture Nights, and wellness activities.
