Job summary

Mountain Ltd. seeks an OSP Fielder in the Wenatchee, WA area. The role involves assisting an engineer with pole inventories, retagging, and data collection while reading and interpreting engineering drawings and plant symbols.

Knowledge of NESC and safety standards is essential. Applicants should be familiar with OSP construction standards, and copper/fiber design practices, and must be able to travel as needed. Windows XP, Excel, and Outlook skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, legal descriptions and plant symbols.
• Knowledge of NESC inspections, aerial cable line work and wooden pole ground line inspections.
• Familiar with OSP construction standards and outside plant copper/fiber design and construction practices.
• Comfortable with basic computer tools: Windows XP, Excel, Outlook; internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist an engineer with pole inventories, retagging and data collection; work largely independently.
• Interpret engineering drawings, legal descriptions and plant symbols accurately.
• Adhere to voice/data industry standards, safety guidelines and structure requirements (aerial and subsurface).
• Provide all supporting documentation of findings after completing each work order.
• Report safety or quality issues to management immediately.

Mountain Ltd. has an opening for an OSP Fielder in the Wenatchee, WA area.

Job Description:

This individual must be capable of assisting an engineer with pole inventories, retagging and inspecting, collecting data, largely independently. This individual must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, legal descriptions, and have a thorough understanding of voice/data industry standards, plant symbols, and terminology. Must have knowledge of important telecommunications measurements, clearances, safety guidelines, and structure requirements both aerial and subsurface. Must be fully knowledgeable of requirements set forth inpractices for outside plant copper/fiber design and construction. Must, upon completion of each work order inspected, provide to the appropriate departments, all associated supporting documentation of her/his findings. Special attention to identified items of inspection that may be of a serious nature, such as, safety or quality, should be reported to the management immediately upon identification.

Qualifications:

• Working experience with NESC inspections with supervision or experience working on an aerial cable line crew
• Working experience with performing wooden pole ground line inspections without supervision.
• Proficient with OSP Construction Standards
• Working Experience with the National Electric Safety Code.
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, legal descriptions, plant symbols, and terminology.
• Computer experience:
• Microsoft Windows XP, Excel and Outlook
• Familiar and comfortable with internet usage, and web page browsing.
• Good communication skills.
• Personal time management and organization skills.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on short notice.

Pay: $29/hour, commensurate with experience
