Job summary

TDS Telecom in Tennessee is seeking an OSP Line Maintenance and Construction II to perform general labor related to outside plant line maintenance and construction activities. You will operate trenchers, backhoes, end loaders and plows to place cable facilities and test/repair aerial and underground cables within TDS service areas.

Responsibilities include installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic, copper and coax facilities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of construction experience with trenchers, plows, backhoes, or similar equipment.
• 1+ years of telecommunications outside plant experience.
• Must follow attendance guidelines and be available for on-call/standby responsibilities.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Replace, re-set and realign poles; reattach cables.
• Perform line maintenance in various weather conditions with safety focus.
• Operate construction equipment to build and repair outside plant cable facilities.
• Install, test, troubleshoot and maintain fiber, copper and coax facilities.
• Update GIS/maps and locate markings to reflect as-built data.
