TDS Telecommunications Corporation is seeking an OSP Line Maintenance and Construction II specialist to perform general line maintenance, operate trenchers and backhoes, and install fiber/copper/coax facilities. The role requires lifting, climbing, and occasional travel within service areas.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of construction experience using trenchers, plows, backhoes or similar equipment.
• 1+ years of telecommunications outside plant experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be eligible for DOT requirements.
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL; in-house CDL certification may be provided.
• Pass Safety Training and customer-specific requirements (background checks as needed).
• Willingness to work overtime and varied shifts; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general line maintenance in various weather conditions with safety fundamentals.
• Operates trenchers, backhoes, end loaders, and plows to place cable facilities.
• Installs, tests, and repairs aerial and underground cable facilities per maps and locations.
• Reviews GIS/maps/addresses and updates as-builds; marks fiber/copper/coax locations.
• Performs pole transfers, fault tests, and repairs of strands, wires and related equipment.
• Trains and monitors personnel; completes electronic work orders and paperwork.
• Keeps worksite and equipment maintained and ready for operation.
