Job summary

StarTech Networks Inc. is seeking an OSP Field Engineer in Tulsa, OK for a long-term project. The role involves performing field surveys, documenting poles and underground paths, capturing photos, and ensuring accurate data for design and permitting.

The candidate will measure spans, GPS coordinates, and compile field notes in line with OSP design principles, converting notes to KMZ format. Practical experience with FTTP/GPON is a plus, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP fielding, telecommunications construction, or utility surveying preferred.
• AT&T experience preferred (IFP, ASE, and GPON exposure is a plus).
• Knowledge of Google Earth with ability to create or edit KMZ/KML files is a plus.
• Understanding of FTTP and AT&T GPON design is an advantage.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding field tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform field walks to document poles, underground paths, ROW boundaries, and site conditions.
• Capture required photos including pole tags, heights, labels, MPOE, handholes, anchors, clearances, obstructions.
• Measure spans, attachment heights, mid-span clearances, and record GPS coordinates.
• Take detailed field notes following OSP Design Principles and maintain accurate routed documentation.
• Convert field notes into Google Earth/KMZ format (preferred).
• Identify constructability issues, easements, utility conflicts, and permitting requirements.
• Upload and manage field data using platforms such as KatapultPro or IQ GEO.
• Communicate field findings with Project Managers, Engineering teams, and other stakeholders.

KeyResponsibilities:
