Job summary

E2 Optics is seeking an OSP Field Technician in Abilene, TX. This onsite role supports installation of underground fiber optic infrastructure, following safety standards and client requirements.

You will collaborate with project teams to install cables, document work, and ensure quality throughout the process. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and experience in outside plant environments, with knowledge of duct systems and large-count fiber installations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in outside plant fiber installation environments is preferred.
• Underground duct systems and vault construction practices understood.
• Ability to install large-count fiber optic cables.
• MaxCell installation, micro duct, and air blown practices familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team with installation activities as needed.
• Install underground fiber optic cable in duct banks, vault systems, and campus pathways using approved pulling methods.
• Set up and maintain installation equipment and ensure safety requirements are met.
• Document work performed and report progress and issues to supervision.
