Job summary

FiberLight, LLC in Abilene, TX is seeking a Fiber Maintenance Technician to ensure reliability of our outside plant (OSP) network across Texas. You will be the single point of contact for maintenance in your work zone, responding to outages and coordinating resources to restore services quickly.

The role includes preventive maintenance, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with company standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Telecom OSP Construction experience.
• Fiber splicing with testing and isolation.
• Proficient with PCs and MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Current valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Texas.

Responsibilities

• Own outage response and maintenance within the service area and restore services safely and efficiently.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 emergency maintenance.
• Track, analyze, and report maintenance activities and costs to support performance and budgeting.
• Utilize 3GIS, FMS and other tools to diagnose and resolve network issues from OTDR readings.
• Collaborate with construction, engineering, and network operations to improve processes and reliability.
