Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Manager, Outside Plant Engineering in Charleston, SC to lead the planning, design, and execution of OSP construction and maintenance for our fiber network. You will guide cross‑functional teams and contractors to ensure high‑quality deployment and ongoing 24/7 operation, while complying with OSHA, NCTA, and FCC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of fiber construction experience.
• Advanced knowledge of optical networks and aerial/underground construction techniques.
• Experience managing outside plant contractors and ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with trouble ticketing systems and MS Excel/Word.
• Strong project management and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; able to pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead OSP team members including Supervisors, Fiber Technicians, Engineers, Locators, and Construction Technicians; oversee hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee FTTP project planning and execution; conduct field surveys and cost development for diverse properties.
• Manage contractor relations, invoicing, and quality control across resources.
• Lead restoration and troubleshooting during outages; ensure rapid restoration and in‑service performance.
• Enforce OSP splicing, construction, and documentation standards; maintain OSHA safety and regulatory compliance.
