About The Job

Position Summary: Responsible for documenting physical fiber/coax paths across Breezeline’s network to support selling and installing fiber/coax services. Keep detailed inventory using specialized software (Esri, OSPInsight, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Lode Data or equivalents).

Responsibilities
  • Use Esri, OSPInsight, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Lode Data, or equivalents to document routes for underground and aerial fiber optic cables from reviews and as-builts.
  • Interpret As-Built prints from Work & Maintenance Orders and update records promptly.
  • Research existing records, system maps, plans, and right-of-way documents.
  • Manage conversion of source data into drawings showing fiber placement in multiple markets.
  • Ensure database accuracy by daily data input of new cable, conduit, manholes, splicing, and customer terminations.
  • Provide field personnel with cable and route information.
  • Prepare maps, spreadsheets, and presentations for management and operational teams.
  • Stay current on new fiber management products, standards, and protocols.
  • Participate in design and review of fiber mapping enhancements.
  • Design and develop fiber optic network layouts for residential, commercial, and enterprise customers, focusing on FTTx and coaxial deployment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in telecom sales engineering, OSP field work, or related areas is a plus.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in fiber optic and coax design, construction, or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Esri, OSP Insight, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Lode Data, or equivalents; proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Full knowledge of outside plant fiber optic and coax network infrastructure, design, and construction.
  • Ability to generate and interpret drawings, blueprints, and spreadsheets; comfortable speaking publicly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
  • Familiarity with GIS and database management is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, with excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Proficient with office software and quick to learn new applications.
  • Willing to travel periodically by air/ground.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with 10+ years related experience.
