Job summary

Lumos Fiber is seeking a Manager – OSP Construction to lead Outside Plant network builds across market sites, interfacing with subcontractor teams and internal Lumos groups. You’ll drive safety, schedule, and budget adherence while developing relationships with local officials and communities.

You will supervise field teams, coordinate with utility partners, and provide technical leadership to ensure quality builds.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in OSP construction, engineering, or operations fiber builds.
• 2-5 years’ experience leading techs and contractors in a fiber build environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven project management skills; able to effectively manage multiple concurrent milestones to closure.
• Active, fully unencumbered driver’s license; fiber/telecom industry experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes assigned market builds safely, on time & within budget.
• Manages scheduling and coordination of maintenance, repair, and upgrade of OSP facilities and surrounding communities.
• Delegates responsibility and empowers direct reports to accomplish market tasks; designs builds, tracks progress, and motivates contractor crews.
• Influences internal & external teams to ensure progress and staying on target.
• Interfaces with local governments & communities; responds timely & graciously.
• Keeps internal & external stakeholders informed on build progress.
• Provides technical leadership and coordinates with subcontractor teams to standardize and improve processes.
• Coordinates with utilities partners and internal Lumos teams to plan and execute objectives.
• Manages CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory tracking; approves expenses.
• Accounts for building and maintaining a high-performing team; identifies training & coaching opportunities.
• Performs other duties and cross-functional projects as assigned.
