Signal and Strand is seeking an OSHPD/HCAI Superintendent for Northern California (San Jose) field supervision of healthcare facility projects. The role demands hands-on leadership across trades, strict OSHPD/HCAI adherence, and coordination with inspectors and subcontractors.

We are partnered with a construction firm specializing in OSHPD/HCAI-regulated healthcare facility projects on the search for an OSHPD/HCAI Superintendent. This role provides hands‑on, on‑site supervision and management of construction work across all trades and vendors, ensuring projects are delivered to the company's standards for quality, safety, and schedule.
Communication, team building, problem‑solving, and leadership are core to this role. The position may require travel up to 50% of the time, along with night and weekend work as project schedules require.
This organization is clear about what it is-and is not-seeking.
They are not looking for someone who simply manages a schedule from a trailer.
They are seeking a hands‑on superintendent: someone who can build trust with inspectors and subcontractors on‑site, hold every trade accountable to OSHPD/HCAI compliance, and step in to self‑perform work when needed to keep a project moving.

Field‑based role with regular presence on active construction job sites, including required PPE and varied indoor/outdoor site conditions
Final candidates are subject to a fitness‑for‑duty test, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and criminal background check
