Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in safety, engineering, or closely related field with two years of safety inspections experience.
  • Associate degree plus four years of inspections experience also qualifies.
  • Foreign degrees require evaluation for U.S. equivalency and official transcript if degree earned abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of NC workplaces for safety hazards and exposures.
  • Prepare timely written reports and recommend citations where justified by safety laws.
  • Travel to on-site inspections; interact with complainants, employers, and agencies.
  • Maintain and apply OSHNC standards and Field Information System procedures.
