Job summary

Resource Options, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support onsite hazardous waste programs in line with RCRA and DOT regulations. You will train clients on chemical safety, perform EHS audits, and help implement OSHA-compliant practices across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • BS/BA in Environmental Science or related degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following RCRA, DOT, and other regs.
  • Train clients on chemical safety and hazardous waste management.
  • Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients.
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations; OSHA 40 Hazwoper.

Job description

Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, loading/unloading, coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. While Environmental Specialists begin in entry-level roles, they move on to serve in nearly every department. Former Environmental Specialists are everywhere in the company including the consulting, sales, and operations management departments.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other state and federal government agencies’ regulations
  • Train clients on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management
  • Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferredbut not required

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
  • Successful completion (upon the point of hire) of OSHA/DOT physical examination
