Job summary

Hanger Clinic in Bronx, NY is seeking a Clinical Assistant / Certified Orthotic Fitter to support certified clinicians in orthotic and prosthetic patient care. You’ll prepare treatment rooms, assist with mold fabrication, and help with fitting soft goods and device modifications under supervision.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year in a customer service or patient-facing role, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role.
• Preference for allied health professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic trainer, etc).
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined by Hanger.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified clinicians in delivering patient care services under direct supervision.
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for clinical procedures.
• Perform technical fabrication tasks, including making and modifying molds.
• Execute treatment modifications, adjustments, and repairs as directed by the supervising clinician.
• Fit and provide soft goods items to patients.
• Provide alterations and adjustments to soft goods items as needed.
• Provide orthotics fitting services independently.
• Assist with selected patient follow-up care under clinician direction.
• Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care provided.
• Communicate patient information and care outcomes to the supervising clinician.
• Ensure all patient procedures comply with clinical protocols and standards.
