Job summary

Hanger Clinic in Dayton, OH seeks a Clinical Aide to support certified clinicians in orthotic and prosthetic patient care. You will assist with patient care preparation, fabricating and modifying devices, document clinical activities, and manage inventory under supervision.

Under indirect supervision, you will help with room setup, molds, repairs, and alterations to soft goods, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient facing role.
• Preference for allied health professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic trainer, etc)
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
• If the Clinical Assistant holds a recognized license or certification in a related allied health profession (e.g., Physical Therapist/PTA, Occupational Therapist/OTA, Athletic Trainer, etc), they may be supervised under Indirect Supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified clinicians in delivering patient care services under direct supervision
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for clinical procedures
• Perform technical fabrication tasks, including making and modifying molds
• Execute treatment modifications, adjustments, and repairs as directed by the supervising clinician
• Fit and provide soft goods items to patients
• Provide alterations and adjustments to soft goods items as needed
• Provide orthotics fitting services independently
• Assist with selected patient follow-up care under clinician direction
• Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care provided
• Communicate patient information and care outcomes to the supervising clinician
• Ensure all patient procedures comply with clinical protocols and standards
• Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory monitoring of prosthetic and orthotic materials
• Contact and coordinate with vendors to order necessary materials and supplies
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
