The Department of MM Orthotics & Prosthetics Center is seeking a Certified Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician to work at the Orthotics and Prosthetics Center.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices independently according to clinical work orders, ensuring optimal fit, function, and aesthetics.
  • Follow procedures as per Lean Thinking guidelines.
  • Support orthotists and prosthetists by fabricating devices for patients with musculoskeletal conditions or limb loss.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance of devices.
  • Provide on-call and walk-in coverage as needed.
  • Assist in training and orienting fellow technicians, residents, students, and volunteers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as an Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician by the American Board Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (CTPO).
  • Experience in orthotic and prosthetic fabrication.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and familiarity with fabrication materials and equipment.
  • Registration, certification, or licensure as required by the appropriate agency.
Additional Information

For non-certified technicians, training or on-the-job experience is acceptable, with eligibility for certification.

Desired Qualifications
  • Training in upper extremity prosthetics fabrication.
  • Minimum three years of experience as an ABC Certified Technician.
  • Up-to-date with new fabrication techniques.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Work Mode

Hybrid or remote options available at the discretion of the department, subject to review and change.

Additional Details

This position may be underfilled based on qualifications. It is covered under a union agreement and subject to background screening and pre-employment testing.
