Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a dependable Medical Scribe to support Orthopedic providers across multiple clinic locations in the Valley. The scribe will handle documentation and assist with administrative tasks to keep patient care efficient. A minimum typing speed of 65 wpm and ability to travel to six orthopedic sites are required.

Availability at least three days per week is expected. As a non-clinical role, the scribe does not examine patients but focuses on accurate charting and workflow

Qualifications

• Typing speed of at least 65 words per minute.
• Must be able to travel to six orthopedic clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Assists the practitioner in navigating the EHR and may locate information for review as requested.
• Accompanies the practitioner during patient interview and examination without adding observations.
• Documents patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, PMH/SH/FH, meds and allergies.
• Documents physical exam findings and procedures as performed by the practitioner.
• Documents lab and imaging results dictated by the practitioner.
• Documents correct times of patient care activities and communications.
• Ensures practitioner reviews all documentation and signs the chart.
• Performs chart rounds with the practitioner to review status and delays.
• Ensures authentication before leaving patient care area and communicates orders.
