Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Medical Scribe to support physicians during patient encounters by observing and transcribing medical information and aiding documentation in the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities include transcribing history, reconciling medications, documenting encounters from physician dictation, and handling routine front/back office tasks such as appointment scheduling and rooming patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification by the American Association for Medical Transcription preferred.
• 6 months experience as a Medical Scribe or related experience and/or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes history and other relevant medical information into electronic medical record.
• Reviews and reconciles patient's medication and allergy list as recorded by patient.
• Documents patient encounter based on physician's verbal dictation with accuracy.
• Performs clerical tasks such as encounter reconciliation and informing physician if information is missing.
• Maintains physician-to-physician written communication, including corrections and timely delivery.
• Possible front/front and back office duties like appointment scheduling and rooming patients.
